Dataix Introduces VERA — A Proprietary Engine for Quantifying Revenue Loss in Healthcare Organizations
Dataix introduces VERA, the Valuation Error and Revenue Audit Engine, a proprietary analytical framework built to translate forensic billing findings into financial terms that healthcare operators, private equity sponsors, and institutional lenders can act on immediately.
Dataix today introduced VERA, the Valuation Error and Revenue Audit Engine, a proprietary analytical framework built to translate forensic billing findings into financial terms that healthcare operators, private equity sponsors, and institutional lenders can act on immediately.
VERA was developed in response to a gap that Dataix identified across its engagements. The forensic reconciliation work the firm conducts — cross-referencing machine logs, billing ledgers, and payer remittances — consistently surfaces material revenue discrepancies. What was missing was a structured way to communicate what those discrepancies mean in terms that matter to the people making capital allocation decisions: EBITDA impact, enterprise value implications, and transaction risk.
VERA addresses that directly. It takes the output of a Dataix forensic reconciliation and maps each finding to its financial consequence. How much of the identified gap is recoverable within applicable timely filing limits. What the EBITDA impact is at current operating margins. What the enterprise value implication is at the organization's stated or implied exit multiple. And what value remains in gaps that are no longer recoverable — because documented and certified billing irregularities carry measurable protection value in due diligence processes even when the revenue itself cannot be reclaimed.
The engine draws on published benchmarking data from Kodiak Solutions, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors, and CMS Office of Inspector General reporting to establish leakage rate baselines by care setting and machine type. Those baselines are applied to client-specific inputs to produce estimates that are grounded in documented industry data rather than internal assumptions.
Speed is central to how Dataix approaches this work. A VERA analysis is completed alongside the forensic reconciliation itself, meaning clients receive both the documented findings and the financial translation within the same engagement window. There is no separate analytical phase and no delay between identifying a gap and understanding what it means for the organization's financial position.
VERA is available as part of every Dataix engagement. It is not sold separately.
